Life can be overwhelming and stressful sometimes. The loads of school work combined with extracurricular activities, hobbies, work, friends, and family relationships can be a lot. Even just writing it on a document makes my heart beat faster.
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps”
PROVERBS 16:9
Throughout my teenage years, I’ve had numerous jobs. I started working at Chick Fil A when I was fourteen, got a job at Olive Garden when I turned sixteen, became an employee at Costco Wholesale when I turned eighteen, and picked up a second job working at a retirement home at age nineteen.
At each of those jobs, when school would get overwhelming and I felt defeated, I would think I can just work at this job for the rest of my life.
Although I do not think it’s God’s plan for my life, it’s possible that I may end up working at one of my high school/college jobs. Would that be the end of the world? No.
Whether I don’t get into the dietetics program, become unemployed, take a gap year, become a college drop-out, work full-time for myself making practically no money, or live in my car, everything will be okay.
Way too often, I get hung up in the details and let the minute things of life overwhelm me. I let myself sit in the mental spirals and quickly feel as though life is too much to handle. That it would be easier to quit than persevere.
But, God’s got me. And whatever happens, I’m okay.
